Affordable Health Care for America Act is Available for Review By Clicking Here

WASHINGTON, DC - Upon introduction this morning of H.R. 3962, the Affordable Health Care for America Act, U.S. Congressman John Boccieri (D-Alliance) released the following statement:

"Now that we have a final bill, it's time to read it in its entirety and weigh it against concerns, criticisms, and ideas shared over the past ten months. This comprehensive legislation will indeed affect every American. After reading the bill, I will make my decision whether to support the reform measures before us in the U.S. House.

"As I read through this bill, I am looking for measures that meet my six principles of reform:

  • People: Affordable access to health care for everyone;
  • Prevention: An increased focus on prevention and wellness;
  • Pre-existing: Insurance coverage extends to pre-existing conditions;
  • Portability: Ability to take health insurance from job to job;
  • Physicians: Incentives for patients and physicians to work together to determine the best care for the patient; and
  • Pay: Our health care system should be paid for without raising taxes.

"As promised, I made the final bill available on my website the minute I received it. I encourage all 16th district constituents to take time and read it with me."
